The A-Series Add-Ons are additional products supported by and used in conjunction with OakGate's software, appliances, and enclosures. They include host adapters, PCIe power interposer cards, and extra host memory.

    Host Adapters

    The A-Series Host Adapters provide input/output processing and physical connectivity between the OakGate appliance and the protocol-specific device under test (DUT). Several host adapters are available to support all popular storage protocols, including:

    • NVMe x16 host card (including management interface (MI) support)
    • SAS/SATA host bus adapters (HBAs)
    • Enterprise HBAs (FC, FCoE, iSCSI, Infiniband)

    The host adapter resides in a PCIe x8 or x16 backplane slot of an appliance. For example, the A-Series NVMe x16 host card, residing in an exapandable desktop appliance, provides communication between the appliance and NVMe SSDs in an OakGate 12-bay U.2 enclosure.

    The host adapters may be included in some OakGate products or can be purchased separately.

    The 3/6G SAS/SATA HBA resides in a PCIe backplane slot (PCIe x8 is recommended) of the appliance. With eight external ports, it provides communication between the appliance and SAS/SATA 2.5" SSDs:

    • Within an OakGate 24-slot SAS/SATA enclosure
    • Standalone

    The 12G SAS / 6G SATA HBA resides in a PCIe backplane slot (PCIe x8 is recommended) of the appliance. With eight external ports, it provides communication between the appliance and SAS/SATA 2.5" SSDs:

    • Within an OakGate 24-slot SAS/SATA enclosure
    • Within an OakGate 24-slot SAS/SATA enclosure

    NVMe x16 Host Card

    NVMe x16 Host Card

    The NVMe x16 host card resides in a PCIe backplane slot (PCIe x16 is recommended) of the appliance. It provides communciation between the appliance and NVMe 2.5" SSDs in an:

    • OakGate 4-bay U.2 plug-in module
    • OakGate 12-bay U.2 enclosure

    It also connects to MI devices in an:

    • OakGate 4-bay U.2 plug-in module
    • OakGate appliance backplane

  • PCIe Power Interposer Cards

    PCIe Power Interposer Cards

    The A-Series PCIe Power Interposer Card provides power control and measurement for a PCIe device that is attached to it. The device is typically a PCIe edge card, but with the proper adapter (SFF-8639 adapter), other types of devices can be attached as well.

    The PCIe power interposer card resides in a PCIe backplane slot of a supported OakGate appliance or enclosure. There are two types of A-Series PCIe power interposer cards, which are based on the appliance or enclosure used with the NVMe/AHCI devices:

    • PCIe Power Interposer Card for OakGate Appliances and 7-Slot PCIe Enclosure
    • PCIe Power Interposer Card for 16/32-Slot PCIe Enclosure

    The PCIe power interposer cards may be included in some OakGate products or can be purchased separately.
